In honor of World Mental Health Day being on October 10, 2021, we wanted to remind employees and their families of the extensive mental health resources we have available. All of these resources are available to employees on Dot’s health insurance. Some are available to employees who are not on Dot’s health insurance. Those details are noted below.
Please remember that if you are having a mental health emergency or someone you know is in immediate danger, you should dial 911.
1. Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The EAP has a wide variety of available services to help you along all aspects of your health journey. You can call EAP 24/7 to receive mental health support and find counseling services. They are there to work with you through any personal, family, work-related, or mental health challenges. You do NOT have to be enrolled in Dot’s medical plan to use the EAP.
For your convenience, EAP also offers a text line that allows you to chat with a counselor at a time that works best for you. When you don’t have privacy to talk on the phone or just need a little encouragement or guidance to get through the day, you can easily contact a counselor for the moral support you need. Simply text 800-356-0845 anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday.

2. Chaplain Program
The Chaplain Program is a cost-free, confidential service that Dot has made accessible to you and your family. Chaplains can be contacted 24/7 through text, video, phone, or in-person whenever you may need:
- Marriage and family support
- Parenting advice
- Grief support
After the mental health strains we were seeing in our employees during 2020, we made the decision to roll out the Chaplain Program companywide. This program will be available in all distribution centers (DC) by 2022.

Chat with a certified counselor for mental health support, such as depression, anxiety, or relationship problems, from the comfort of your own home or from your truck on the road. MDLIVE offers live, virtual counseling appointments for anyone on Dot’s health insurance plan.

4. Health Advocacy Solution
Health Advocacy Solution is a one-stop-shop for all of your medical insurance needs—including mental health services! Simply call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and a dedicated health advocate will provide you with personalized support.
How can you use this service for mental health services? Call your health advocate and ask them to send you a list of in-network mental health professionals located in your area.

5. Matters of the Mind Mental Health Guidebook
At Dot, we know it’s important to prioritize all aspects of our health—body and mind. For that reason, we developed a mental health guidebook for Dot employees and their families. Employees can access the Matters of the Mind guidebook on the Dot App or on The Compass.

Disaster Distress Helpline

Crisis Text Line
Text MHA to 741741 and you’ll be connected to a trained crisis counselor. Crisis Text Line provides free, text-based support 24/7.
If you need assistance finding food, paying for housing bills, accessing free childcare, or other essential services, visit 211.org or dial 211 to speak to someone who can help. This service is run by the United Way.
National Domestic Violence Hotline
Victims and survivors who need support should call 800-799-7233, or 800-799-7233 for TTY. If you’re unable to speak safely, log on to thehotline.org or text LOVEIS to 22522.
The National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline
Call 800-656-4673 to connect with a trained staff member from a sexual assault service provider in your area.
Caregiver Help Desk
Contact Caregiver Action Network’s Care Support Team by dialing 855-227-3640. Staffed by caregiving experts, the Help Desk assists you in finding information to navigate your complex caregiving challenges. Experts are available from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids Helpline
Call 855-378-4373 if you are having difficulty accessing support for your family or a loved one struggling with addiction or facing care or treatment challenges resulting from COVID-19 circumstances. Support is available in English and Spanish from 9:00 a.m. to midnight Eastern Standard Time weekdays and noon to 5:00 p.m. on weekends.
