Alyssa’s Story: Bachelor’s in Business Administration
Alyssa Streveler, special pricing specialist at Dot Foods Mt. Sterling, is using the program to get a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources management.
“I was a little hesitant to use the program at first, not knowing how things would look during COVID-19. But the program is very easy to use and is pretty stress free,” Alyssa said. “It has helped me not worry about the financial aspect of my classes. Plus, it is nice to have my place
Dan’s Story: From Driver to Assistant Transportation Manager
Dan Rowley, assistant transportation manager at Dot Foods Oklahoma, is using the program to complete his second bachelor’s degree in computer information systems. He will graduate in summer 2023.
“In 2007 I brought my daughter to a Dot college fair,” said Dan. “It prompted me to look into online classes. That fair was the first time I realized a driver could pursue a degree while driving a truck. Currently, I have two degrees: a bachelor’s in general studies, which I completed mostly while on the road, and an MBA .”
No Better Time Than the Present
Alyssa and Dan had the same advice about using the program: Go for it!
“Most of us are going to be working here for several more years. You might as well take advantage of the tuition reimbursement and get yourself a college degree, or three!” Dan said.
“My only advice is if you are on the fence about using the program, just go for it! It is by far one of the best choices I made for myself and my career!” Alyssa said.
