We have all heard the phrase, “For the best work/life balance, you need to do… .” And though there are 1.87 billion Google hits on the phrase “work/life balance,” almost two-thirds of the population does not think they have a good balance.

Work/Life Integration

Considering that, let’s pitch a new phrase, “Work/Life Integration.”

According to UC Berkeley, work/life integration is “an approach that creates more synergies between all areas that define life: work, home/family, community, personal well-being, and health.” Integration takes the approach of gentle pivots instead of hard boundaries when it comes to work and life.

Think of it this way:

Instead of defining the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as work only, you can build in some time for your children or to hit the gym. Instead of defining the weekend as family time only, you can read your email to catch up on work. Through this approach, our days can become a bit more malleable, and we can still give the attention needed to each aspect of life. The best part is that Dot Foods can help!
