Finding the right benefits to support you and your family can be frustrating. And we understand that your needs may vary from your neighbor’s.

At Dot, we take your health seriously. So, we offer fantastic health, dental, and vision benefits.

On top of that, we make sure you have access to unique benefits that are included at minimal or no extra cost to you. In doing so, we are making sure you are getting the best care possible from the best resources available.

“We know [our benefits package] is one of the strongest in each community where we operate. We want you to recognize this, too…

Health care costs continue to rise across the country. Dot is proud to offer benefits that allow you to take control not only of your health but also health care costs.”

Health Care

Dot offers all full-time employees the opportunity to enroll in our health care program through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. You can choose from two types of health plans. These plans have differing costs based on your specific individual or family needs.

We also want to make sure you are saving time and money. We encourage everyone on our plans to use the extra programs and resources we offer such as MDLIVE, Benefits Value Advisor (BVA), and a Health Savings Account (HSA).

401(k) Retirement Savings

Dot offers all full-time employees the ability to plan ahead for retirement through a Dot-sponsored pre-tax 401(k) account. If you commit to automatically putting aside money from each paycheck into a 401(k) account, Dot will kick in some money, too.

Dot will contribute up to 2.5 percent of your pay as long as you contribute 5 percent or $1,200, whichever is greater. This contribution will start within the first quarter following one year of service.

You also have the opportunity to celebrate our annual successes with us. Dot will deposit even more money into your retirement account each year from our profit-sharing program. The profit-sharing amount is based on how well we did as a company. This is one of our ways of showing you how important you are to the growth of our business

Profit-sharing payments are typically made at the end of March but are not guaranteed.

Unique Benefits Offerings

Family Health Centers

We are proud to staff Family Health Centers (FHCs) near the Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, and Idaho distribution centers (DCs). Dot employees and their families who are enrolled in Dot’s health insurance can visit these facilities for biometric screenings, lab work, condition management, and more—all at little or no cost.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

A free, confidential service that offers assistance to Dot employees with will writing, parenting advice, legal consultation, health and wellness coaching, counseling, and more.

Wellness Incentive

Improve your quality of life and reduce personal medical expenses by taking the free wellness screening each year. Along with receiving valuable information about your health, you earn free money just by participating. You must be enrolled in a Dot Foods medical insurance plan to collect the wellness dollars.

Parental Leave

Dot employees who are expecting a new addition to their family through childbirth or adoption are eligible for parental leave. Through the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), parents—biological or adoptive—can take up to 12 weeks away from work after the birth or adoptive placement of a child.

We also provide new biological mothers gradual return to work. This program allows employees to work shortened hours during their three weeks back on the job while still being paid for full-time hours.

“Everyone was very helpful when I came back from maternity leave. I think a lot of it has to do with the culture around the office and the fact that Dot is a very pro-work/life balance.

It was nice that I had the gradual return to work program and that I didn’t have to travel right away. But, it was mostly the personal attention everyone gave me—asking how it was being back, how my daughter was, and offering to help or give any advice.

Even John Tracy remembered that I had just had a baby and asked how everything was going with coming back to work! It’s nice to know that everyone cares!”

Dot Cares Fund

If an employee experiences a crisis caused by a natural disaster or circumstances that are beyond their control, they can apply to the Dot Cares Committee for financial help. Dot wants to be there for their employees through the easy times and the more difficult ones, too.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability

Dot offers short-term and long-term disability at no cost to the employee. We want you to be protected at all times.

And so much more

Dot’s wide range of benefits and services ensure that our employees and their families are taken care of.
